Description

A lightweight axe for glacier travel. The curved head is shaped to sit in the hand in the piolet-canne position, the tapered steel pick bites in hard snow and ice, and the removable LINKIN leash helps prevent dropping it.

  • WARNING: in these situations the ice axe is used as an additional balance point. It would not be effective for stopping a fall in progress
  • Available in four lengths: 50, 60, 68 and 75 cm
  • The 50 cm version weighs 340 g
  • Openings in both the pick and spike reduce weight and take a carabiner
  • Contoured upper section of the pick for a secure grip in the piolet-canne position
  • Grooves cut along the shaft improve grip during technical manoeuvres
  • LINKIN leash included, fully removable and adjustable between 50 and 75 cm
  • Steel pick tapered to 3 mm at the tip for reliable anchoring in ice
  • Stainless steel spike engineered to pierce firm snow and ice
