Description
Description
Crafted for those pursuing ultra-light backpacking and alpine trekking, the Xenith III is tailored for high mountain adventures during summer and for journeys at lower elevations in spring and autumn.
The Xenith III delivers exceptional warmth without burdening the pack. Designed for minimal weight and maximum efficiency, it suits ultra-light backpackers and mountain trekkers tackling summer summits or shoulder-season trails. With 900 fill-power goose down and the remarkable PLASMA 10D fabric, it ensures reliable comfort night after night, no matter where sleep finds them.
The Extreme Light range stands among the finest in the world of lightweight sleeping bags—a peerless fusion of impressive warmth, minimal weight, and compact packability. Most importantly, these qualities are achieved without sacrificing the fit and functional features needed for enduring use in demanding mountain environments.
Previous iterations of the Xenith series earned enduring praise from the brand’s alpine athletes. These bags have proven their worth in some of the most challenging climbs across the Himalaya, Karakoram and Alaska. At the same time, they’ve accompanied adventurers on iconic ascents in Patagonia, Yosemite, and the European Alps—not to mention countless long-distance backpacking and ski tours where every gram matters.
Now fully reimagined, the Extreme Light series—featuring the Xenith I, II and III—has undergone a complete overhaul. Every aspect has been refined, blending hard-won experience from countless nights outdoors with deep-rooted design expertise. Since 1961, specialist down sleeping bags have been at the heart of the company’s legacy—and they remain a driving passion for the design and development team to this day.
Ultra-lightweight, highly packable and wonderfully breathable, the PLASMA 10 Denier fabric is used throughout the range. Combined with 900 fill-power goose down, this ensures an impressively low weight and compact size without compromising on comfort. The performance of even the finest down depends on its stability, which is why vertical box wall chest baffles and slanted main body baffles are employed—to keep the insulation exactly where it is needed most. This level of detail is typically reserved for much more robust expedition-grade bags.
While many lightweight sleeping bags reduce weight by trimming length and width or simplifying essential elements like zips, hoods and footboxes, such shortcuts often come at the expense of genuine comfort and thermal performance. This collection resists those compromises. Each bag in the Extreme Light range features full-length, high-quality zips for ease of use and improved ventilation options. The designs include advanced footboxes that enhance warmth and comfort during cold nights in the mountains. Both the Xenith II and III models are equipped with thoughtfully designed hoods and integrated collars, ensuring better insulation and a snug fit around the head and neck. These are bags adventurers will look forward to slipping into—whether they are bedding down at a scenic alpine pitch or settling in on a cramped bivouac ledge high above the clouds.
