The hood and face panel can be worn separately with comfort, and crucially, the face covering can be pulled down without unfastening the helmet strap—ideal before tackling a demanding crux. When fully deployed, the hood and collar combination removes the need for a balaclava and reduces the necessity of carrying a neck gaiter. The offset front zip has been integrated to ensure a snug, irritation-free fit around the face.
