Description
Description
The Brunton TruArc 15 is a mirrored baseplate compass for advanced navigation, snow safety, search and rescue and scientific field work. The TruArc 15 combines a global needle, tool-free declination adjustment, a sighting mirror and a clinometer with 2 degree resolution, and is made in Riverton, Wyoming, in the USA.
Key Features
- TruArc Global Needle tilts up to 20 degrees, so the compass stays balanced anywhere in the world
- Tool-free declination adjustment orients magnetic north to true north quickly, with nothing to lose or carry
- Sighting mirror and sighting line built into the cover for the most accurate bearings, taking one or following one
- Clinometer with 2 degree resolution measures slope angle or gauges the height of a pass, peak or tree
- 1 degree resolution azimuth ring, a dual azimuth ring including reverse azimuth, and a magnified readout
- Bubble level keeps the compass itself level, which is the critical part of taking an accurate bearing
- Meridian lines on the vial line up with map grid lines for pre-trip planning, plus a map magnifier and an engineer's ruler
- Brunton EverNorth magnet resists demagnetisation over time, and the high visibility cling helps in low light and peels off for map work
The TruArc 15 measures 10.16 x 6.3 x 1.5 cm and weighs 68 g. Scales differ by version, with inch and centimetre rulers on the global model and metric scales on the metric model, so check which one you need. Packaging is FSC-certified and recyclable.
