Mountain Equipment Nanda Devi Men's Gore-Tex Jacket

Inspired by over sixty years of mountain expertise, the Nanda Devi jacket blends traditional design elements with modern waterproof technology to tackle today’s challenges in wet-weather performance. Built for hill-walking, trekking, and demanding conditions, it features durable construction combined with the lightweight, packable GORE-TEX ePE membrane.

Reviving classic design, the jacket includes low-profile external stormflaps on the main zip, hand pockets, and underarm pit zips—enhancing both protection and timeless mountain styling. These stormflaps play a crucial role in maintaining reliable waterproof performance during prolonged exposure to rain.

The Nanda Devi is made with a GORE-TEX ePE membrane, a recycled water-repellent outer fabric, and a breathable recycled drop liner—delivering effective protection and comfort, even in warm or humid environments. Its soft fabric feel ensures it remains comfortable and compressible, making it a great choice for less extreme mountain adventures where weight and comfort matter most.

Functional details include an adjustable, peaked Mountain Hood for secure coverage in harsh weather, and an Alpine Fit designed for freedom of movement without excess bulk. Pre-shaped sleeves support ease of motion when climbing or carrying gear, while pit zips offer quick ventilation during high-output efforts. Finished with an adjustable hem and laminated cuffs, the Nanda Devi keeps the elements out when conditions take a turn.

Patterning & Design

• Alpine Fit with articulated and pre-shaped sleeves allows maximum mobility
• A very adaptable jacket which is based on their Alpine Fit pattern with only minor adjustments to cater for its robust 75 denier fabric. It is well suited both to wearing with multiple midlayers in winter as well as just thin layers in summer. Most people find the Nanda Devi fits 'true to size' no matter when or with which layers they wear it with.
• 2-way YKK® underarm pit zips with external stormflap allow for airflow & ventilation when required

Hood Configuration

• Their Mountain Hood is fully adjustable with rear volume adjustment and two frontal adjusters
• Laminated and wired hood visor maintains field of vision even in high winds or when wearing glasses or goggles
• Internal rear hood adjuster cord channels with rollaway clip
• Tethered external cordlocks to adjust hood opening

Pocket Configuration

• 2 outer hand pockets with YKK® zips and external stormflaps, positioned to be accessible when carrying a pack and large enough to store gloves and other items
• Single inner YKK® zipped security pocket for storage of small items
