A groundbreaking synthetic insulated jacket for alpine pursuits. Built with Aetherm™ Precision Insulation, the Oreus Hooded Jacket provides down-like warmth with the durability and weather resistance of synthetic fill. The result of a 5-year development project, Aetherm™ Precision Insulation is patent pending and unique to Mountain Equipment, warmer than anything of equivalent weight, and more breathable and packable than comparable synthetic fills.

Already well proven, with prototypes seeing heavy use everywhere from the Karakoram to Patagonia and the Alps, the Oreus is one of the most versatile pieces of kit you can own. Suitable for super alpine climbing, ski touring, hill walking, or rock climbing on high crags, it can be worn as an outer layer, a super warm mid-layer, or thrown over everything as a lightweight belay jacket. The warmth, fast-drying performance, low weight, and pack size are equally beneficial for almost any activity in the mountains.
